Carl Hester is one of the greatest ever equestrians, leading Great Britain to gold medal victory at the London 2012 Olympics.

Carl grew up on the remote Channel Island of Sark, moving to the UK mainland at the age of 16 to work with horses. He could never have predicted what a great affinity he would have for dressage. Carl's career enjoyed a stratospheric rise as he progressed from working as a groom/rider to riding international dressage horses full time for renowned owners Dr and Mrs Bechtolsheimer, to training his own horses, and other top riders, to international success.

2011 European Dressage Championship
In 2011 Hester riding the horse Uthopia was part of the British team that won the team gold medal at the 2011 European Dressage Championships in Rotterdam. Hester also won individual silver medals in the Grand Prix Freestyle and Grand Prix Special.

2012 Olympics
In 2012, Hester was selected with three others to represent the United Kingdom at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The UK dressage team won the gold medal with Hester riding Uthopia.

In the New Year Honours 2013, the Queen appointed Hester as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for services to equestrianism.

2016 Olympics
In 2016, Hester again represented the UK at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and helped the team secure the Silver Medal.

2020 - Carl is aiming for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
